#6 - 12 Angry Men

My sixth favorite movie

Do you guys remember that movie you probably saw back in High School ?
You know the black and white one during Government History class ?

Even if you don't, you've still probably seen this one.

Youtube unofficial trailer
(this trailer is awesome is cut like a modern movie trailer, with its own fake orchestrated soundtrack >__<)

(there will be spoilers - but really ... who hasn't seen this movie)

"12 Angry Men" is bassically about twelve jurors in a murder case. A boy that grew up in slums was accused of murdering his father. Now in a normal "CSI" episode, or any other Cop drama, the investigation and the trial usually take up the most scene time. With jurors only as an after thought. But this movies entire focus is on the deliberations of the jury members.

Trip to the Tian Tan Buddha

During my trip to Hong Kong, i was able to take a trip to the Tian Tan Buddha Statue.

If you guys don't know or haven't already seen it (or took glanced at the photos below >__<). This statue is gigantic. According to wikipedia (yes) one fo the top five biggest Buddha statues in the world, with 250 tons of bronze. pretty cool

But getting there is the fun part. We had take a Gondola . >__<

The Ngong Ping 360's 5.7 kilometer gondola system is actually pretty straight. So im not really sure why they called it 360... But anyways, its like a Disneyland ride except you are actually dangling hundreds feet above the ground. You'll see:

Just like Disneyland
The ride starts like a normal ride should. Like i said, Disneyland.

My Top 6 Favorite Movies (Intro)

While making my list of culturally important movies that everyone should watch. ( All while trying to watch all these movies myself  )

I was stuck wondering what my favorite movies are. The movies i go back to again and again and never get tired of watching.  The first three or so were easy but it became harder as i went further away from my favorite because there are so many good movies out there to choose from.

So I've come up with my top 6 Favorite movies. Why 6?
Because I like the number, and its small enough that i don't have to keep this up for too long, then accidentally forget to do it.

But before i do, i wanted to make a list of movies that could have easily been up there.

Movies That Almost Made Top 6:
(these are not in any particular order)

Star Trek (2009)
The first fifteen minutes pretty much sold it for me, and is perhaps my favorite part of the film. The Moment that Kirk's Father makes his choice to save the rest of the crew always makes me tear up. The rest of the film follows in an action packed, emotional ride that never lets down. I also like how the film was shot. I like how the camera flows, and the lens flares. The sci-fi is a little loose, but thats okay in my opinion. Star Trek II Wrath of Khan is also one of my favorites, (Shatner's speech at the end shows just how great of an actor that man is). But i just enjoy watching the fun, fast pace, and emotions of the 2009 Star Trek.

The City of Hong Kong

Yes it has taken me a long time to post this (a trip that happen near a month ago O__o..)

Anyways...

Hong Kong  is absolutely amazing.

I can't say that the city has changed much since the last time. It's still really clean and the food is still Awesome !!!

I want to say that the city has a lot of life. But thats just me trying tog et away from saying that its really crowded. I read somewhere that Hong Kong is probably one of the most populated cities in the world.  (wiki says its the 20th... but what evs)

Markets of Hong Kong

Hong Kong is also probably has the most capitalistic society i have ever seen. Everything here seems to be based on market. Even the Money system can be printed by different companies and can look completely different from each other. I could be wrong on this... but it seems like different banks print their own style of say 10 or 20  dollar bills. Sure they are all worth 10 or 20 HK dollars, but they may be different sizes, quality, etc (some are even washing machine proof ^__^).

Every night shops open up on the streets to sell ... pretty much anything. From the messenger bags, clothes, fruit, to those... (i think those are table saws and sanders) things in the picture below. some which are legitimate products, others which are... cough
